Jennifer Grant, of Penn Yan, New York, is currently a doctoral student in the entomology department at Cornell University, working with Dr. Michael Villani in Geneva.
Prior to Jennifer's returning to school, she worked as an ornamentals IPM Extension Educator and conducted demonstrations and workshops in the management of turf pests. She was instrumental in getting turf managers to begin using composts for disease management. She also developed a white grub sampling procedure that is even used by homeowners. Jennifer brought these methods and practices, along with many others, to turf production and turf maintenance operations across the state, gathering commendations on her work from golf course superintendents, park managers, lawncare professionals, and homeowners.
