IPM Operating Committee

The IPM Operating Committee includes:

  • the NYSIPM Program director and coordinators
  • representatives from NY State Departments of Agriculture & Markets and of Environmental Conservation
  • directors of Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE), CCE Pesticide Management and Education Program, Cornell University Agricultural Experiment Station, and Cornell AgriTech
  • science faculty from Cornell University, supporting the IPM coordinators

The IPM Operating Committee receives input from the Community IPM Coordinating Council and Statewide IPM Grower Advisory Committee, via IPM coordinators, to guide NYSIPM on its policies, goals, and mission. Meeting once or twice per year, we get updates on NYSIPM activities, receive and review Excellence in IPM Award nominations, discuss and advocate for funding, evaluate grant proposals when sufficient funding supports a NYSIPM grants program, and receive and consider input on NYSIPM staffing

The IPM Executive Committee is made up of state agency representatives and Cornell University administrators. This Executive Committee provides oversight, renders final decisions on Excellence in IPM awards, NYSIPM grant awards, and on the allocation of the program's base funding. The Executive Committee creates awareness with the CALS Dean and the NYS Commissioner of Agriculture, and, in turn, brings the concerns of college or state administration to the IPM Operating Committee. Members of the Executive Committee are selected from the IPM Operating Committee membership.
