About Trac Software

Trac Software requires:

  • Microsoft Excel
  • Windows 98 (or above) or Mac OS 9 (or above)
  • Visual Basic Applications will not work in Mac Office 2008.
  • Printer to print reports
  • For faster downloads of compressed files, a program to extract or “un-zip” Trac Software for Fruit

Trac Software will not work in Mac Office 2008 for Apple computers or in Open Office because Visual Basic Applications are not supported by these versions of Excel.

Before downloading make sure Trac Software requirements are met on your computer. There are 5 steps for downloading. Once the process is started, the back arrow button on your browser will not take you back.  Read these step-by-step instructions so you know what to expect.

Step One: Register

Enter your contact information so we can inform you of software improvements, bugs, and yearly updates. Your contact information is kept private and used only to support your use of Trac Software.

Step Two: Trac Software Manual

Here you will download the Trac Software Manual. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open the Manual. If needed, you can obtain Adobe Acrobat Reader free here.

When you click on the “Download the Trac Software Manual, 200k pdf file” link, the Manual will either download to your desktop or open in your browser window.  If it opens in your browser window, save the Manual to your computer using “File, Save As…” in your browser menu.  After saving the Manual use the browser’s back arrow button to return to the Step Two page and press Continue.

Step Three: Select the Version

Click on the radio button next to the one Trac Software version you want to download.  You will be able to return to this page to download other versions after the next step.

Step Four: Download Trac…version of choice

Downloading the TracSoftware version obligates you to the terms and conditions of the Notice and Permit of the Copyright held by Cornell University and the Cornell Research Foundation, Inc.

Depending on your internet connection speed, you can choose to download either an uncompressed Trac file or a zipped (compressed) Trac file.  Compressed files will need to be unzipped or extracted.  After downloading, click on “Download was successful” to continue.

Step Five: Download Other Versions

From here you can return to Step Three to download another version of Trac Software.
