IPM Commodity Working Groups are composed of research and extension faculty and staff, off-campus extension educators, growers and private crop consultants. The working groups are organized around the five major areas of program focus; The working groups help to organize long-range plans for research and extension efforts in specific commodities, identify priorities for program-funded projects, call forth teamwork among the disciplines, and evaluate proposals made to the IPM Grants Program. Membership on these working groups is open in some commodities where the research and extension players are few in number, and somewhat limited in others because the number of possible participants is greater than fifteen. Rotation of members is sought where membership is limited. The Working Groups are chaired by a faculty research or extension scientist who also serves on the IPM Operating Committee. Chairpersons are often rotated every three to four years. |
