PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Responsibilities
Provide leadership in innovative
educational and applied research programs relative to IPM in Field
Crops and Livestock in Eastern New York.

Assist Extension Educators in extension
program development, assessing needs, implementation, and evaluation
relative to IPM in Field Crops and Livestock in Eastern New York.

Conduct applied research relative
to IPM in Field Crops and Livestock in Eastern New York.
Current/Ongoing Projects
Work in cooperation with the Livestock
and Field Crop IPM Coordinator, County Extension Educators, and faculty
in designing, implementing and evaluating innovative public IPM field
crops and livestock outreach programs in six counties.
Working in cooperation with the Livestock
and Field Crop IPM Coordinator and faculty in developing innovative
educational materials in IPM field crops and livestock for Extension
Educators.
Working in cooperation with the Livestock
and Field Crop IPM Coordinator, Extension Educators and faculty to
develop an Environmental Tactical Agriculture Educational Program
to protect water quality.
Development of an IPM field crops
and livestock advisory team for Eastern New York.
Designing methods of measuring short-
and long-term rates of IPM adoption for Eastern New York.
Distribute a "Weekly Eastern
NY Field Crop Pest Report" from data collected in several counties
on a NY field crops listserv.
Design and conduct a white grub survey
in hay fields and pastures in cooperation with Livestock and Field
Crop IPM Coordinator, faculty, Extension Educators and growers.
Assist a Cornell graduate student
in monitoring lady beetles species in Eastern New York.
Accomplishments (Past Two Years)
Development of a network of Extension
Educators conducting outreach programs that increase the rate of adoption
of IPM practices relative to field crops and livestock.
Working in cooperation with the Livestock
and Field Crop IPM Coordinator and faculty we have developed a series
of IPM educational brochures and IPM PowerPoint presentations for
use by Extension Educators.
Development of an IPM field crops
and livestock advisory team for Eastern New York.
Distribute a "Weekly Eastern
NY Field Crop Pest Report" from pest data collected from several
counties on a NY field crops listserv.
Masters Research: Behavioral Responses
of Hippodamia convergens (Convergent Lady Beetle) to Olfactory and Visual cues.
