Dear Friends of IPM:
Recently the USDA-National Institute of Food and Agriculture asked for input regarding proposed changes in how USDA would fund their portion of IPM Programming in the future. Please see President's budget would change how USDA funds IPM for a summary of that proposal.
We met with our colleagues in the northeastern US to formulate a coordinated response and also submitted input from the New York State IPM Program. Both of those documents are posted here:
As you may discern from the website and the responses, the proposed changes potentially have some large impacts on state IPM Programs in the future. Should you want to make your opinions on this topic known, we suggest that you do so through your US Congressional Representatives and Senators. You may also want to contact IPM Voice in order to get the latest updates on actions regarding proposed changes to federal IPM support.
